TikTok and Reels Script
Script a 30-45 second short video with a layered hook (spoken + on-screen text), one value beat every few seconds, and a loop-friendly ending.
Write a short-form video script (TikTok/Reels/Shorts). Topic, the one thing this video delivers: [THE PAYOFF, e.g. "the 3-ingredient marinade", "why your resume gets rejected in 6 seconds"] Who it's for: [AUDIENCE + WHAT THEY'RE SCROLLING PAST TO FIND THIS] My proof or angle: [WHY ME: a result, a test, a contrarian take] Length: [30-45s TALKING / UNDER 20s DEMONSTRATION] Format the script as a two-column table: TIME + SPOKEN LINE | ON-SCREEN TEXT + VISUAL. Structure: 1. **0-3s: the layered hook.** Three things at once: a spoken line that states the payoff or opens an information gap, on-screen text (max 7 words, a DIFFERENT phrasing than the spoken line; it serves sound-off viewers), and visual movement (never a static talking head for the first beat). Banned openings: "hey guys", intros, logos, context-setting. Viewers decide in under 2 seconds. Start mid-value. 2. **3-25s: value beats.** One beat per 3-5 seconds, each advancing toward the payoff. For every beat: the spoken words (casual register, contractions, no written-english sentences) and what's on screen. Cut every word that doesn't earn its second. 3. **The payoff**: deliver exactly what the hook promised, stated plainly. 4. **Last 2s, one of:** a single CTA (one action only), or a loop line that flows back into the opening (loops boost completion rate; prefer this for reach). Then add: 2 alternative hooks with different mechanisms (question that creates an information void / bold contrarian claim / proof-shown-first), so I can test. Rules: spoken language only. Read it aloud test. No "in this video I'll show you". If my angle needs proof I didn't provide, mark [SHOW: what to film] rather than scripting a claim I can't back.
How to use
The retention math: above 70% of viewers still watching at 3 seconds means the hook works; below 50% means rewrite it, not the body. That's why the prompt produces two spare hooks: post the same video with different hooks and compare 3-second retention in your analytics. The on-screen text is not a caption of the spoken line; it's a second hook for the majority scrolling with sound off.
