Three-Touch Cold Email Sequence

Write a three-email cold outreach sequence built around one specific trigger and one clear ask, with subject lines under 5 words.

Write a 3-email cold outreach sequence.

Sender: [YOUR ROLE AND COMPANY]
Recipient: [ROLE, COMPANY TYPE]
Trigger, the specific reason we're reaching out NOW: [e.g. "they just posted a job for X", "their site does Y"]
The one thing we want: [15-MIN CALL / REPLY / TRIAL SIGNUP]
Credibility: [ONE PROOF POINT, e.g. "we do this for 40 similar companies"]

Email 1 (day 1): Open with the trigger, not our company. Two sentences on the problem it implies, one on how we solve it, one-line ask. Under 90 words.
Email 2 (day 4): New angle, share one specific, useful insight or example relevant to them (something they'd keep even if they never reply). Soft ask. Under 80 words.
Email 3 (day 9): Brief, direct close-out. No guilt-tripping, no "just bumping this". Give them an easy out plus one final reason to reply. Under 50 words.

For each email: subject line under 5 words (lowercase, no clickbait), then body.
Rules: no "I hope this finds you well", no flattery openers, no fake personalization tokens beyond [FIRST_NAME] and the trigger, write like a busy peer, not a marketer.

How to use

The trigger is everything: emails built on a real, specific signal get roughly double the replies of template blasts, and average cold-email reply rates have fallen to ~3% precisely because of generic AI outreach. If you can't name a real trigger for a prospect, don't email them yet.
