Abandoned Cart and Win-Back Email Sequences

Write the two highest-ROI ecommerce flows: a 3-email cart recovery sequence and a 3-email customer win-back, honest urgency only.

Write recovery email flows for my store.

Store + product: [WHAT YOU SELL + PRICE RANGE]
Buyer + why they hesitate: [WHO + THE REAL HESITATIONS: price, sizing, shipping cost, trust, "just browsing"]
What I can offer (be honest, this constrains the copy): [DISCOUNT % AND WHEN I'M WILLING TO GIVE IT / FREE SHIPPING / NOTHING: brand-protecting]
Proof assets: [REVIEW COUNT, RATINGS, GUARANTEES, RETURN POLICY]
Voice: [2-3 WORDS, e.g. "warm, playful" / "clean, premium"]

FLOW 1: Abandoned cart (3 emails):
- **Email 1 (1 hour after):** pure reminder, the exact item(s), one benefit line, one button back to the cart. No discount: most recoveries need only the nudge, and discounting hour-one trains cart abandonment. Subject line names the product, not "you forgot something".
- **Email 2 (24 hours):** handle the hesitation. Pick the #1 blocker from my list and answer it head-on (shipping/returns/sizing/guarantee), plus one short review as proof. Still no discount if my offer list allows holding.
- **Email 3 (48-72 hours):** the closer. If I allowed a discount, deploy it once with a real expiry stated plainly; if not, honest last-touch scarcity only if true ("we hold carts for 7 days") plus the strongest proof point. Fake urgency is banned: an expiry that resets is a trust leak, not a tactic.

FLOW 2: Win-back for lapsed customers (3 emails, for buyers inactive [N MONTHS]):
- **Email 1:** "it's been a while" done without guilt. Lead with what's new/improved since they bought, personalized to what they purchased.
- **Email 2:** the reason to return, best-seller they haven't tried, replenishment logic if consumable ("about now is when most people run out"), or their loyalty status.
- **Email 3:** the honest fork, a genuine offer OR a preference downgrade ("want fewer emails? one click"), because a clean list beats a resentful one.

For each email: subject (under 45 characters) + preview text, body under 120 words, one CTA button label. Rules: reference the actual product where the platform allows merge tags; no ALL-CAPS urgency; claims trace to my proof assets or get flagged [VERIFY].

How to use

Cart recovery is the highest-ROI email automation in ecommerce. These flows run forever once built, and the no-discount-in-email-1 discipline protects your margin from buyers who only needed the reminder. Wire the timing in your ESP (Klaviyo, Mailchimp) as specified; the delays are part of the design. Watch email 2's click rate to learn which hesitation actually blocks your buyers, then move that answer onto the product page itself.
