Testimonial Collection System

Build a review system: milestone-triggered asks, questions that extract before/after stories instead of 'great service!', and FTC-safe practices.

Build my testimonial and review collection system.

Business: [WHAT YOU SELL + HOW CUSTOMERS SUCCEED WITH IT]
The success moments in my customer journey: [WHEN CUSTOMERS ARE HAPPIEST, e.g. "first campaign ships", "delivery day 2", "hit their goal", "support resolves fast", or "help me map them"]
Where reviews matter most for me: [GOOGLE / G2 / TRUSTPILOT / MY SITE / CASE-STUDY QUOTES]
How I can ask: [EMAIL / SMS / IN-APP / IN PERSON OR ON CALLS]

Build:
1. **Trigger map**: match each success moment to an ask, because timing beats copy: the ask lands within ~24 hours of the win, while the emotion and details are fresh. Calendar-blast "please review us" campaigns produce the generic reviews you can't use. For each trigger: the moment, the channel, and which platform to route them to.
2. **The ask templates**: per channel:
   - Email (for story-rich testimonials): short, references THEIR specific win ("you just hit [milestone]"), asks 3 questions instead of "write a review".
   - SMS/in-app (for review-site volume): one tap, one line, sent at the moment of resolution/delivery.
   - Live/call: the spoken ask for when a client says something quotable: "That's exactly what others need to hear. Can I quote you on that?"
3. **The questions that produce usable quotes** (the difference between "great service!" and a testimonial that sells):
   - "What was going wrong before you found us?" (the before-state: this is what prospects recognize themselves in)
   - "What almost stopped you from buying?" (objection reversal: gold)
   - "What specific result have you seen: numbers if you have them?"
   - "What would you tell someone on the fence?"
4. **Processing workflow**: from raw answers to published quote: edit for length and grammar only, never meaning; get written approval of the exact edited version; attribute as fully as they'll allow (name + role + company beats initials every time).
5. **The reply system**: response templates for positive, mixed, and negative public reviews (future customers read the replies more than the reviews).
6. **The compliance lines (non-negotiable, FTC):** never pay for or incentivize POSITIVE reviews (incentives, if any, must be for honest reviews, disclosed, and never conditioned on sentiment); never gate (asking only happy customers for public reviews while diverting unhappy ones is now explicitly penalized); disclose material connections; atypical results need context. Flag anything in my current practice I described that crosses these.

Rules: fit everything to the channels and moments I actually have; a system I won't run is worth nothing. Start with the ONE trigger likely to produce the most volume and tell me which it is.
